Agfa HealthCare, a provider of enterprise clinical imaging and IT solutions, announced the installation of two DX-D 400 direct radiology (DR) systems at WellStar Health System, a not-for-profit healthcare organization comprised of five hospitals and 11 imaging centers.
Agfa HealthCare announced that it is launching the next generation of its MUSICA (Multi-Scale Image Contrast Amplification) image processing software with new technology improvements that enhance both image quality and workflow for radiographers and radiologists at the upcoming Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting (RSNA 2013) in Chicago.
Upgrading its technology was a big decision for US Signature HealthCare in Brockton, Mass. The oldest and largest in-patient hospital within its area, its ambitious upgrade program covered a lot of goals; including offering digital imaging in the emergency room and providing more tools to the people making time-sensitive clinical decisions. In rigorous field trials, one solution stood out, offering not only the specifications the hospital wanted but also visibly different image quality: the Agfa HealthCare DX-D 100. And that was just the start!
The Agfa Impax Agility picture archive and communication system (PACS) is a departmental imaging platform designed to improve productivity, reduce cost and facilitate quality outcomes. This comprehensive solution redesigns capabilities typically found in a radiology information system (RIS), multi-department PACS, voice recognition reporting and connectivity into a single system.
Upgrades featured at the 2014 RSNA for the DX-D 100 wireless, mobile digital radiography (DR) system will include improved workflow and connectivity as well as low noise and dose capabilities.
Radiologists at Belgium’s Sint-Rembert general hospital were the first to test and approve the image display, workflow management and personalized settings of Agfa HealthCare’s new IMPAX Agility solution. It passed with honors, connecting the hospital’s radiology department with medical imaging of the future.
Agfa HealthCare announced the North American launch of the CR 12-X, a table-top computed radiography (CR) digitizer which combines affordability with high image quality. This solution is fitting for general radiography, orthopaedic, and chiropractic practices, including those needing Full Leg/Full Spine application.
While the advantages of digitalizing a hospital can be multiplied across a multi-site enterprise, the challenges can be magnified as well. That’s why Chirec, with its six sites, in Brussels, Belgium, has a comprehensive strategy to go digital and become "paperless." Agfa HealthCare’s ICIS View is bringing the hospital’s images and users closer together, and Chirec one step closer to a completely digital future.
Agfa HealthCare installed six DX-D 100 mobile digital X-ray systems at the Medical Education & Training Campus (METC), a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) integrated campus. The systems will be utilized in the basic biomedical equipment technician (BMET) training curriculum for all Army, Navy and Air Force BMETs in the DoD. In addition to implementing the DX-D 100 systems, Agfa Healthcare will provide on-site training support at METC to help create a curriculum for the program.
Today’s remote viewing systems will stimulate changes and challenges in healthcare in a manner similar to what online banking has done for the financial industry. The areas of improvement include safe, secure, remote access from any browser, or ultimately any mobile device. This is the reality of today, and it comes without the need for special applications or image and associated data downloads from virtually any source.
