Agfa HealthCare announced that Prime Healthcare Services has agreed to purchase 50 Agfa DX-D 100 mobile digital radiography (DR) units to serve its hospitals after a thorough due diligence process. Agfa’s value proposition included, in addition to the clinical benefits, its Technology Evolution Financing, allowing Prime Healthcare to acquire a minimum of 50 mobile DR systems over a 60-month period. By bundling the resources of sales, service and financing, Prime Healthcare Services will enjoy an inclusive and complete digital mobile solution with equipment and maintenance protection for optimal use. These units will be deployed in 2015, with the possibility to increase the number of units to 70 or more.
Agfa HealthCare announced that it will launch its new mobile digital radiography (DR) system with FreeView telescopic column at AHRA 2015, the Association for Medical Imaging Management's annual meeting. FreeView technology creates better maneuverability and ease of use by offering a telescoping column for an unobstructed view while driving the mobile DR system.
Agfa HealthCare announced that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for diagnostic viewing with the XERO Viewer. This Full Fidelity View functionality of the viewer uses lossless compression to provide diagnostic quality when images are displayed, by retrieving original-quality renditions of stored digital X-ray (DX), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed radiography (CR) and ultrasound (US) images.
Children's National Health System has installed six Agfa HealthCare DX-D 100 mobile digital radiography (DR) systems and two DX-D 600 full-room DR suites to transition two X-ray rooms from computed radiography (CR) to DR. The installation followed a thorough review of several DR technologies in which Agfa HealthCare's DX-D 600 system was determined as well-suited for the hospital's pediatric patients given its potential to reduce patient radiation exposure as much as 60 percent. Additionally, the DX-D 600 was chosen for its ability to accurately and automatically perform full-length spine imaging, which pediatric patients often require for scoliosis evaluations. The DX-D 100s were selected to provide a more efficient means to image patients.
With more than 60 years’ experience in the field of radiology, Zwanger-Pesiri is one of the largest non-hospital based radiology practices in the United States today. Committed to investing in only the latest technology, its 12 Long Island sites serve 2,000 patients a day. Its staff of 60 radiologists comprises a number of specialties including vascular imaging, interventional radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, abdominal radiology, cardiovascular radiology and breast imaging.
With such a diverse and large patient base and so many radiologists to manage, workflow is a key consideration, which is why the DX-D 300 DR system, with its Cesium Iodide detector technology and immediate image availability, was its solution of choice.
Agfa HealthCare announced the launch of its Enterprise Imaging Exchange Program, which establishes a secure health information exchange network between multispecialty collaborating health providers to exchange and share medical imaging data. The solution will be on display at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting, May 26-31, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
