December 13, 2013 — Agfa HealthCare, a provider of enterprise clinical imaging and IT solutions, announced the installation of two DX-D 400 direct radiology (DR) systems at WellStar Health System, a not-for-profit healthcare organization comprised of five hospitals and 11 imaging centers.
The floor-mounted, scalable, DX-D 400s provide DR workflow, high image quality and the benefits of flexible exam configuration for both the WellStar Medical Physician Group and the WellStar Urgent Care facility.
An existing Agfa HealthCare customer, WellStar Health System selected the two DX-D 400 systems in large part for the image quality of the MUSICA2 (multi-scale image contrast amplification) image processing that the facility had experienced with its Agfa HealthCare computed radiology (CR) systems. The versatile DX-D 400 system was also selected for its ability to cover all general radiography exams and offering high-quality DR solution for lower volume offices. It will be used in conjunction with the Agfa HealthCare Impax picture archiving and communication system (PACS) that is already installed at the facility.
“Adding Agfa HealthCare’s DX-D 400 systems to two of our facilities has allowed us to continue to offer the best in comfort and efficiency for our patients and the excellent image quality for our staff,” said Carol Scoggins, executive director, diagnostic outreach, WellStar.
The floor-mounted, cost-effective and easily installed solution offers reliability and excellent uptime. Specially tuned for MUSICA2 for smoother workflow, the DX-D 400 has configurations and options for every need. The system can also be combined with Agfa HealthCare’s CR systems for even greater versatility. WellStar Health Systems ordered cesium flat panels with their DX-D 400 purchase for the potential to reduce patient dose.
