October 18, 2012 — Accuray Inc. announced the resignation of Euan S. Thomson as president and CEO, and director of the board. Accuray's board has appointed Joshua H. Levine as his successor, effective immediately.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) leads the nation in breast cancer screening rates and has outperformed non-VA health care systems in breast cancer screenings for more than 15 years, with 87 percent of eligible women receiving mammograms in the VA health care system in fiscal year 2010.

October 16, 2012 — The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) will host an Ultrasound First Forum on Nov. 12, 2012, in New York City. The forum will address the expanding role of ultrasound imaging as a “first” imaging examination and will be devoted to encouraging the use of ultrasound as a safe, effective and affordable alternative to other diagnostic imaging modalities.
