Open MRI of Pueblo is doing this to help relax the patients and give them improved overall comfort. MRIs can make some feel claustrophobic, but using an open MRI like the Oasis and wearing aromatherapy induced gowns can calm fears of claustrophobia and relieve anxiety by giving patients the feeling and smell of a calming environment.

Senate Bill 1538, authored by State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto), will require that following a mammogram, women with dense breast tissue be informed of the following: They have dense breast tissue; that dense breast tissue can make it harder to evaluate the results of a mammogram; that it is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer; that information about breast density is given to discuss with their doctor and that a range of screening options are available.
