January 23, 2017 — International medical imaging IT company Sectra recently announced that the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, has entered a multi-year agreement to utilize Sectra PACS (picture archiving and communication system) for all their breast imaging workflow. This solution was purchased to provide the breast radiologists a comprehensive means to support the full patient pathway from screening to diagnostic exams, with the end goal of improving cancer detection and care.

Carestream Health will demonstrate a zero-footprint enterprise imaging platform that can easily enable new use cases and modules at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference, Feb. 19-23 in Orlando, Fla.

The rapid spread of Zika virus in the Western Hemisphere this past year has caused great alarm in the United States, which has braced for a wider spread over its borders. Brazil has been the epicenter of the epidemic, and physicians there have conducted several studies to come up with radiologic guidelines for early diagnosis and tracking of the disease.
 

A new study by the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute evaluates characteristics of non-research industry payments to radiologists and their potential impact as drivers of medical imaging utilization. The report is published online in the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).
