Toshiba’s high-performance Excelart Vantage ZGV magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system received FDA clearance. The new Vantage ZGV is immediately available and offers new product sequences, enhanced image quality and features the Mach 8 processor, which increases reconstruction to 1,300 images per second for more powerful clinical applications.

MVision, from Siemens Medical Solutions, is a volumetric in-line target imaging solution and the natural next step in Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT). Designed to work with Siemens’ linear accelerators, the system is the first commercial implementation of cone-beam technology utilizing a standard radiotherapy treatment beam. MVision makes it possible for the megavoltage (MV) source used for treatment to also create a 3-D image of the patient, enabling clinicians to “see inside” the patient at the most appropriate moment.

NeoGuide Systems has announced that it received FDA 510(k) clearance to market the NeoGuide Endoscopy System. The system enhances physician control of the colonoscope and eliminates looping, the principle reason why conventional colonoscopy procedures are painful, time consuming and difficult.

IntraSafe Medical received FDA clearance to market its SureFlow Safety Infusion Device, a multiport access device that has both check valves and an aspiration port that connects to any “off-line” Y-site.
The device can also be mounted for stable one-handed delivery of up to four drugs.
