UTE expands the applications of magnetic resonance

Toshiba, UTE, ultrashort echo time, lung magnetic resonance, RSNA 2015

December 8, 2015 – Providers now have a dedicated magnetic resonance (MR) sequence for pulmonary imaging with the introduction of Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc.’s ultrashort echo time (UTE). Available on the Vantage Titan 3T MR system, UTE allows clinicians to view anatomy that was previously difficult to image with MR, creating new clinical possibilities.

UTE allows clinicians to capture images in tissues that generally disappear too quickly for accurate MR imaging. This enables imaging of anatomy such as the lungs, helping providers obtain information to diagnose and treat their patients.

Toshiba showcased UTE and the Vantage Titan 3T MR system at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, Nov. 29 – Dec. 4 in Chicago.
