June 2, 2009 – Siemens Healthcare will demonstrate the latest developments to its broad radiology, cardiology and image-processing portfolio at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2009 Annual Meeting June 4-7 in Charlotte, N.C.

syngo Suite, Siemens Web-enabled radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communications system (PACS) with intelligent post-processing applications, computer-aided detection (CAD) applications, and embedded speech recognition, consists of a portfolio of innovative applications and solutions that will be demonstrated at SIIM.

Siemens will demonstrate new enhancements to its syngo Workflow multientity RIS solution and highlight the latest syngo portals, which provide role-based access to applications and information, when and where they are needed most.

The newest portal available, syngo Portal Executive, is a web-based solution to support proactive management of issues relevant to executives, department managers, and IT administrators - whether it is trending exam volumes, monitoring patient wait times, or supervising report turnaround times. This new portal can monitor and analyze over 40 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the operational performance of a department.

syngo Portal Radiologist has been enhanced with new tools that provide radiologists focused access to important patient information, such as new and previous imaging studies, previous reports, and lab values, all in one application window.

In addition, syngo Workflow’s embedded dictation tool, syngo Voice, has been updated to include context sensitive shortcuts, helping to make dictating more efficient. Developments such as clinical notifications make it possible to highlight certain clinical data, supporting prompt awareness of important patient information.

The new version of syngo Imaging V35 (PACS), is now available. It features major improvements in scalability and performance. Next to these improvements, the new version features functions for patient parking and demos. Version 35 also offers a combination of independent innovative CAD (computer-aided detection) and advanced imaging solutions directly visible at the PACS viewing workstation, supporting diagnostic confidence and enhancing workflow efficiency.

Additionally, syngo Dynamics (Cardio PACS) upcoming version 8.0 (1), assists organizations with improving the efficiency of clinical procedures in cardiovascular imaging, vascular ultrasound, general imaging, and OB/GYN. The solution now includes new features to enhance the cardiology department workflow, including a tool designed for administrative reporting of key performance indicators to promote greater transparency and support proactive department management. The new algorithm for web distribution also provides significant improvements in Web access to cine-clips.
