January 4, 2008 - Sectra inked an agreement with British Telecommunications plc (BT) to provide PACS products and services to the majority of London’s public hospitals, assuming full responsibility for the support and maintenance of the systems.
BT is the Local Service Provider (LSP) for the NHS London Programme for IT (LPfIT). The National Health Service (NHS) is the publicly funded UK national healthcare system. BT has been providing Sectra’s PACS (a system for handling radiology images electronically) to London trusts via a former Sectra partner since 2004. The 21 London trusts comprise of 25 hospitals that combined perform more than 4,000,000 radiology examinations annually.
Sectra PACS features an optional integrated 3D rendering tool, facilitating diagnostic through overview of data and visualizes results to the referring physician. In addition, An image handling model enables radiologists to start working with the images quickly regardless of the size of the dataset.
