July 30, 2012 — Radcal announced that it has entered into an agreement with Europe-based company Leeds Test Objects (LTO) and will be the exclusive distributor of LTO products within the United States.
“The Leeds Test Objects product line is a great compliment to the imaging quality control (QC) product line for diagnostic X-ray, and rounds out the complete product offering of Radcal,” said Pat Pyers, vice president of sales and marketing for Radcal.
LTO phantoms, the first of which was manufactured in 1955, have become renowned as a clinical standard for establishing the correct operating performance of X-ray machines following their adoption for clinical use by the U.K. Health Service in 1973 and as a testing protocol by the U.K. Hospital Physicists’ Association in 1979.
Radcal is currently showing the phantoms at the 2012 American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Annual Meeting.
