June 4, 2008 – Philips was selected for a 33-month contract by Premier Purchasing Partners, in order to provide Premier’s 1,600 member hospitals and 51,000 additional healthcare sites with access to contracts for Philips Xcelera PACS for Cardiology and Philips iSite PACS for Radiology.

The latest version of Xcelera multimodality cardiology image management, analysis and reporting solution offers improved support for imaging studies and data from key cardiac subspecialties including cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular ultrasound, and additionally supports nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and electrophysiology.

The latest version also provides access to relevant electrocardiograms (ECGs) from market-leading ECG management systems from multiple vendors. Additionally, Xcelera R2.2 offers embedded support for the new AutoQUANT v7.0 nuclear cardiology quantification package, which allows doctors to quickly analyze heart structure and function. The system is also compatible with existing and forthcoming versions of the Philips QLAB suite of advanced ultrasound quantification tools.

iSite Radiology is a complete radiology viewing solution designed to help users meet throughput goals. The iSite Radiology features real-time, enterprise-wide delivery of diagnostic quality images to support multiple locations and offsite users and a customizable, reportedly easy to use user interface and advanced workflow tools designed by radiologists to improve efficiency and increase throughput.

The decision was based on corporate stability, breadth and depth of products, services and support, mult-modality imaging capabilities, overall functionality, integration, life cycle, and cost. Considering the specified criteria and evaluation activities, in comparison with other potential suppliers in this category, the Premier I.T. Services Committee then awarded a contract to Philips.

In addition to Philips iSite PACS and Philips Xcelera PACS solutions, Philips Healthcare is on contract with Premier for CT, MRI, molecular imaging, nuclear medicine, PET and PET CT, RAD, RF, surgery and cardiovascular products. Philips is also on contract for all ultrasound systems and nearly all patient monitoring products.
