October 16, 2008 — eHealth Global Technologies released the Image Exchange Service for RHIOs and Community Health Networks, a solution designed to enable healthcare facilities to share medical images with an affordable, easy-to-use solution that does not require a large capital investment or technical implementation complexity.
Users can access images via the company’s eHealthViewer, a DICOM-compliant viewer that enables diagnostic-quality viewing of medical imaging. Users can perform sophisticated 3D viewing and multi-planar (MPR) reformatting from any Windows PC or Windows Mobile smart phone.
The Image Exchange Service integrates into an HIE environment using existing infrastructure, including the HIE’s authentication and consent models. It works across firewalls for secure access to images and utilizes DICOM and HL-7 standards as well as the latest web technologies.
