InSite One Inc. announced the creation of a nationwide Health Information Exchange (HIE), spanning over 600 healthcare institutions across the United States. InSite One announced at RSNA 2009 it is delivering the first national multi-enterprise, multimedia HIE. The new services provide for cross-enterprise sharing features that support the exchange of medical data between disparate clinical systems within a hospital as well as between hospitals within an HIE. This managed solution provides inherent business continuance capability critical as healthcare moves to all digital solutions. The service delivers an industry validated technology solution set with proof statements in implementation of large scale projects.

All of InSite One's 600 plus clinical organizations clients are currently connected using Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise standards of DICOM and HL7 will have their data next year in a document registry ready to participate in the cross-enterprise sharing (XDS) enabled HIE affinity domain of their choice. This capability builds upon their investment in core data management services that has protected their enterprise data and creates an application neutral conduit for health information exchange.
