October 5, 2007 - Accuray Inc. recently announced that the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), has purchased its seventh CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System for HCA's The Harley Street Clinic in London, England, marking HCA's first non-U.S. CyberKnife System purchase.
According to the company, CyberKnife System is unique in its ability to noninvasively treat tumors anywhere in the body with surgical precision on an outpatient basis. With a CyberKnife System, hospitals can reportedly gain a competitive advantage because they are now able to treat a wider array of patients including those who were previously considered inoperable due to old age or a medical condition, those who have surgically complex tumors or those who seek an alternative to surgery.
