October 22, 2010 - The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded Carestream Health a maximum $10 million contract for PACS systems and related sub-systems and components. Under terms of this agreement, the equipment can be purchased by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies.
Carestream Health was also recently awarded a sole-source PACS service agreement for the National Institutes of Health.
The company’s PACS delivers a host of productivity-enhancing features including: a unified user interface; a global patient worklist; automatic registration of volumetric exams; and centralized storage and viewing of non-DICOM and DICOM data. It also converts proprietary image data into a vendor-neutral format that helps preserve data integrity and streamlines data sharing among authorized users and facilities at any remote location.
