February 4, 2008 - Kryptiq recently said its eScriptMessenger (eSM) was deployed at CoxHealth, a four-hospital organization with 55 physician clinics in Springfield, MO, to improve patient safety and office efficiency.
"eScriptMessenger improves our prescription processes, adds to the safety of our patients, and streamlines follow-up," said Jan Ruddell, EMR project manager for CoxHealth. "It is a simple and elegant solution to a very real problem."
CoxHealth has implemented Kryptiq's eSM to improve patient safety by ensuring legible and credible communications between pharmacies and doctors, as well as eliminating manual data entry at the pharmacy to prevent avoidable errors. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, e-prescribing could reduce some 530,000 adverse events that occur annually in Medicare alone. The maker also says eSM improves office efficiency through a deep integration with the GE Centricity EMR, enabling the entire prescribing process to occur within existing EMR workflows.
