Ameena Elahi, MPA, R.T.(R)(ARRT), CIIP
October 20, 2023 — The American Board of Imaging Informatics(ABII) is pleased to announce the Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) who earned this year’s Excellence in Imaging Informatics award. The 2023 award winner is Ameena Elahi, MPA, R.T.(R)(ARRT), CIIP.
About the Honoree
Ameena Elahi is an Application Manager on the Medical Imaging Management (MIM) team within the Clinical Imaging Group (CIG) at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Additionally, she co-chairs the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Steering Committee for Penn Clinical Imaging and is a published author on several peer-reviewed academic papers.
Elahi is committed to the imaging informatics profession, serving as director at-large on the Board of Directors for the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM). She also volunteers as the Informatics Operations Director with RAD-AID, an organization that strives to improve access to medical imaging in low-resource areas across the world; she has participated in two overseas assignments to Nigeria.

About the Award
A committee of CIIPs and ABII Board members selected the Excellence in Imaging Informatics award winner. As the 2023 award recipient, Elahi will receive $500 to use toward continuing education.
The honor goes to a CIIP who demonstrates one or more of the following criteria:
• They're innovators at the forefront of defining the imaging informatics profession.
• They're achievers who seek personal and professional growth.
• They're professionals invested in improving quality and increasing value.
• They're advocates who encourage entrance into the profession or who lobby for greater recognition of imaging informatics professionals and their work.
