Now more than ever, thanks to healthcare reform, hospitals and clinics are having to find innovative ways to be flexible with their imaging systems.
Ziehm Imaging has been awarded with the Bronze Stevie Award in the category "Best New Product or Service of the Year - ...
As healthcare and radiology continue to evolve rapidly, flexibility in the operating room (OR) and imaging lab are key. Consequently, imaging systems need to be versatile as well as able to handle a variety of applications and adapt to any space. These needs have led to the increasing popularity of mobile C-arms, the latest generation of X-ray technology. Today, they are being adapted to handle fluoroscopy, vascular imaging, cardiology and 3-D imaging.
At this year’s RSNA annual meeting, Ziehm Imaging will highlight Ziehm Vision RFD 3-D, a 3-D C-arm with flat-panel technology that provides a 16-cm edge length per scan volume.
Mobile C-arms have become a popular option in many operating rooms (ORs) across the nation as healthcare organizations look to save space and money. According to Klaus Hörndler, managing director of Ziehm Imaging, “ORs in hospitals are becoming ever smaller, while more devices are being used inside them.” Because mobile C-arms are smaller, lighter and more easily maneuvered than fixed angiography systems, they provided an effective solution. At a fraction of the cost of fixed angiography, these systems are also a good option for budget-conscious facilities that have limited financial resources or are experiencing budget cuts.
Ziehm Imaging, a developer, manufacturer and supplier of mobile C-arms, will showcase the first motorized mobile C-arm for use in hybrid ORs at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting (RSNA 2013) in Chicago.
The phrase “doing more with less” is becoming more prevalent in tightening economic environments, and the operating room (OR) is one example of where hospitals are looking to maximize savings. Mobile C-arm units are important for maximizing space in the OR and can provide the image quality needed to visualize anatomy and devices during complex surgical procedures. The latest advances in mobile C-arms aim to provide users with the flexibility and ergonomics that can support accomplishing more in the OR with less.
One thousand days, 1,000 C-arms: this is the result three years after the introduction of the Ziehm Solo. As one of the most compact and flexible C-arms, the Ziehm Solo adjusts to the special demands and requirements of clinics. More and more users from orthopedics and trauma opt for Ziehm Imaging’s multi-talent for intraoperative imaging. The 1,000th Ziehm Solo will be delivered to the Clinica Santa Elena in Malaga, Spain.
October 1, 2012 — Effective immediately, Ziehm Imaging, a market leader for mobile C-arms, is offering operating room (OR) tables from the Swedish manufacturer Stille to complement its Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition.
