However, including measurement data in a report still requires radiologist dictation of numbers manually captured by a technologist. Since quantitative measurements are an important and common aspect of the radiologist report, further increases in productivity and clinical quality can be realized by automating this process.

Using digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) structured report (SR), HL7 or XML measurement data from modalities such as ultrasound, DEXA or computed tomography (CT), ModLink auto-populates the report with these values, saving valuable radiologist dictation time and reducing potential human error. ModLink supports multiple modalities, vendors and reports, as well as advanced data types such as CT dose/contrast and injector system measurements.

PIE includes functionality to import DICOM CDs/DVDs from outlying facilities, reconcile and edit studies with QC tools, burn DICOM CDs/DVDs, and securely upload images to a variety of cloud-based and point-to-point vendors through the Open Image Exchange (OIE) network.
