Centricity Radiology Mobile Access 2.0 enables radiologists to use their iPad and iPhone devices to remotely diagnose computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) exams on an iPad or iPhone when not in proximity to a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) workstation. It is the industry’s only mobile product with clearance for primary diagnosis that accesses images and reports from Centricity PACS. This new mode of access removes a sizable productivity barrier for an increasingly mobile field.

A new clinical review monitor, the RadiForce MX270W from Eizo Nanao, features a 27-inch screen and incorporates an LED (light-emitting diode) backlight as well as IPS LCD panel with a native resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 (16:9 aspect ratio). It is suitable for displaying multiple imaging applications or multiple windows to improve the work efficiency of physicians and radiologists. February 16, 2012 — In an effort to reduce the inappropriate use of medical imaging and improve quality of care, a large, tertiary-care hospital has successfully implemented a computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system with clinical decision support for radiology, according to a study in the February issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology. Significant increases in meaningful use (for electronically created studies, from 0.4 percent to 61.9 percent; for electronically signed studies, from 0.4 percent to 92.2 percent) and the adoption of CPOE (from 0.5 percent to 94.6 percent) were observed.
