Sigmascreening recently announced that a large independent Norwegian study further confirms Sigma’s hypothesis that pressure has a clear relation with the most optimal results in mammography.  The study confirms the importance of pressure in accordance with Sigmascreening’s concept of the Sensitive Sigma Paddle , which applies pressure guidance during mammography. The combination of results of an earlier Dutch and this new Norwegian study shows an optimal pressure in the range of 10 kPa. This pressure clearly correlates very well with the proposed pressure by Sigmascreening, according to the company.

A new free resource allows radiology practices to estimate professional, technical and global bundled prices for breast cancer screening bundles using different assumptions for which services are included, service utilization and reimbursement rates. Developed by the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute, the Breast Screening Bundle Tool was presented at the American College of Radiology (ACR) annual meeting, May 21-25 in Washington, D.C.

May 22, 2017 — Sectra announced that all customers in the United Kingdom are again operational following last week’s ransomware attack with Sectra’s information technology (IT) solutions. 

Over the weekend of May 12-14, several healthcare organizations in the U.K. were affected by a ransomware attack. The ransomware delivery campaign spread through a combination of a phishing attack and by exploiting a vulnerability in Microsoft windows operating systems.
