Carestream Health began shipping its MyVue Center Self-Service Kiosk that can enhance patients’ ability to access and manage their medical imaging exam records. Patients may use the kiosk to print or share radiology reports and output their medical images onto Carestream DryView medical laser imaging film or a USB drive.

Stratasys Ltd. announced that surgeons at the University of Mainz Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department in Germany are using Stratasys PolyJet 3-D printing to transform the hospital’s surgical planning process for complex, life-critical vascular cases. According to the University hospital, the use of 3-D printed models for surgical planning has seen a significant reduction in costs at the institution when designing and fitting implants — while the hospital reports relevant time-savings during surgery, leading to an improvement in patient outcomes.

Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas Inc. has been awarded a group purchasing agreement for healthcare information technology (IT) with Premier. Effective Jan. 1, 2018, the new three-year agreement allows Premier members, in both acute and non-acute settings, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for the Exa platform.

In a move to adopt a single-vendor imaging informatics platform for its system-wide needs, WellStar Health System signed a new agreement with Agfa HealthCare for the company's Enterprise Imaging platform. The comprehensive suite of enterprise software applications will allow the health system to connect its clinicians with patient imaging information across multiple hospitals and hundreds of ambulatory care locations across Georgia.
