February 3, 2016 — The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has launched the ASRT Compliance Suite, a collection of 30 training modules to help healthcare professionals meet educational requirements for certification by state and national accrediting bodies. These include The Joint Commission and Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
The modules, which can be completed in approximately 15 minutes, provide healthcare professionals and facilities with critical information about a number of topics that are included in state, federal and accreditation requirements. Topics range from hand hygiene and fire safety to patient rights and patient safety. The modules are applicable to all healthcare professionals and support staff.
The individual modules allow healthcare workers and facilities to choose the specific topics they need to meet certification requirements. Moreover, the modules will be updated annually to reflect The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals and align with updates to accreditation standards and state requirements.
ASRT Compliance Suite modules are provided free for ASRT members and are available at $10 per module for individual non-members. The materials are also available in a CD version for large institutions with learning management systems and include a test bank and certificate template.
In a move that will add value to smaller organizations looking to meet compliance requirements, the series is available without charge as a benefit of professional group membership. Organizations that purchase ASRT group membership for their staff will receive access to the comprehensive curriculum of 30 online courses.
ASRT Chief Learning and Membership Officer Myke Kudlas, M.Ed., R.T.(R)(QM), CIIP, noted that the series tracks employees who have completed the courses and creates accreditation transcripts and certificates of completion.
These courses are not offered for continuing education credit, but are designed to reinforce essential skills and ensure compliance for the healthcare workplace.
