smart assign, Infinitt

October 2, 2015 — Infinitt introduced a new product called Smart-Assign that provides a global worklist and reporting capability and helps balance caseload among large radiology groups. It can also be used in teleradiology environments where it normalizes data from disparate RIS/PACS systems and maintains continuity with a common set of viewing and reporting tools.

Smart-Assign includes advanced routing logic, automatically assigning incoming cases based on a number of factors, such as radiologist subspecialty, credentialing and work schedule. The software also factors in relative value units.
• The system automates prior exam availability for the radiologist without manual intervention.
• The worklist allows the technologist to QC the study--verifying that the RIS record is accurate and complete--before marking it “Ready to Read”.
• The system can provide an expected turn-around-time based on the exam’s priority level. Infinitt has added a timing feature, alerting the radiologist before time expires to ensure compliance with guaranteed turnaround times.

A version of Smart-Assign software optimized for teleradiology is also available through Infinitt. These capabilities cut an average of 2-5 minutes processing time per study and enable users of the system to guarantee some of the shortest turn-around-times in the industry.
