Agfa HealthCare announced the launch of Musica for Neonatal, built on its next generation Musica image processing software. Offering dedicated functions for neonatal imaging, the next generation Musica for Neonatal can play an important role in caregivers' efforts to control and reduce imaging radiation dose in these highly sensitive patients, while offering very high image quality and consistency. Imaging and dose control for neonatals present unique challenges.
This next generation of Musica software offers all the benefits of previous generations of the 'gold-standard' image processing software, including consistently high image quality across all of Agfa HealthCare's digital radiography solutions and robustness against variations such as tube quality and exposure settings. In this next generation of Musica, Fractional Multiscale Processing (FMP) makes it easier to see and distinguish the subtle details in images. The balanced presentation of all tissue structures, from bone to soft tissue, results in images that are very comfortable to read and that present radiologists with more diagnostic information.
Specifically for neonatal imaging, MUSICA for Neonatal offers an excellent balance of soft bone, lung and abdominal tissue in a single image. This means fewer images are necessary, giving caregivers the ability to reduce the overall amount of radiation dose for the patient.
