October 3, 2014 — Carestream’s Vue RIS (radiology information systems) is one of the first to achieve certification for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use capabilities. This certification allows Vue RIS to exchange patient medical records and clinical documents with other certified EHR providers. These Stage 2 capabilities include: family health history, health information portability and sharing, online patient access to information and communication as well as changes to comply with the way information is tracked so it can be more effectively shared to improve overall patient outcomes. The latest version of Vue RIS, which will be available in the United States in December 2014, also will include other new capabilities that will enhance functionality for customers around the globe. Vue RIS was one of the first platforms to be certified for Stage 1 as both a complete electronic health record (HER) for eligible providers and an EHR module for hospitals.
