November 14, 2013 — Philips Healthcare and Sectra announced an agreement to extend the term of their existing picture archiving and communication system (PACS) support partnership agreement. This agreement allows Philips to provide continued support for Sectra PACS installations through 2020 and can be extended on a yearly basis thereafter.
Philips and Sectra have maintained a nonexclusive partnership agreement since 1997. Under the current agreement, Philips provides service, upgrades and extensions to Sectra PACS solutions, which were sold and installed by Philips in selected countries. Philips provides support to approximately 200 customers that use the Sectra PACS solution.
“As medical imaging technology continues to advance, PACS remains a vital part of our customers’ healthcare informatics infrastructure,” said Mike Mancuso, CEO, Patient Care and Clinical Informatics, Philips Healthcare. “At Philips, we are committed to working alongside Sectra, to maintain this foundation and to allow for the best possible service for our shared customers in selected countries.”
“Our customers are busy helping patients to survive an accident or illness, and the imaging IT solutions are of vital importance in their work,” said Marie Ekström, executive vice president, Sectra AB and president, Sectra Imaging IT solutions. “Through the long-term support and partnership agreement between Philips and Sectra, our shared customers will maintain access to technology advancements through upgrades, as well as good quality service and support, allowing them to focus on helping as many patients as possible in the best way.”
