Calgary Scientific Inc. Clinisys Partnership ResolutionMD

March 21, 2013 — Calgary Scientific Inc. has entered into a partnership with Clinisys, to develop electronic medical record (EMR) solutions for healthcare practitioners. The agreement between the two Alberta-based companies will see Calgary Scientific’s Health Canada and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) diagnostically-cleared medical imaging solution, ResolutionMD, integrated into Clinisys’s cloud-based EMR solution. The integration of powerful visualization, collaboration and mobile tools with the patient record helps clinics to realize many benefits including high quality diagnostics and improved workflows, resulting in a complete circle of care for healthcare practitioners and their patients.

Clinisys’s EMR solution is designed for medical clinics, laboratories, individual physicians and specialists. The agreement will help Clinisys installations in the Canadian and U.S. markets, and bring new opportunities for both companies as there are more than 230,000 small doctor offices in the United States alone.  Additionally, this type of solution gets clinics one step closer to meeting Meaningful Use Stage 2 certification and compliance.

"I am excited about our partnership as it makes leading edge medical solutions available to institutions of any size" said Pierre Lemire president and CTO, Calgary Scientific. "I see this as a great opportunity to deliver an integrated medical imaging and cloud-based EMR that addresses real issues encountered by physicians today who want to provide a high level of care.”

“We see great synergies between Calgary Scientific and Clinisys,” says Mehadi Sayed, president and CEO, Clinisys. “Our focus has been to provide intelligent clinical data to users by utilizing cloud-based technologies and mobile platforms. Calgary Scientific’s ResolutionMD capabilities are a perfect match to supplement our solution.”

The powerful visualization capabilities of ResolutionMD in combination with the built-in business intelligence capabilities of Clinisys, gives practitioners new levels of insight into patient data. In the age where interoperability between systems, access to relevant data and image visualization are key capabilities, the collaboration and integration between like-minded players such as Calgary Scientific and Clinisys will pave the path for future innovations.
