May 7, 2012 — The American College of Radiology’s (ACR) Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) — radiology’s most comprehensive professional development and leadership academy — is now open for enrollment. RLI enrollment is free and open to all of those interested in participating in RLI’s premier leadership training created specifically for the field of radiology. Participants must be enrolled in order to register for RLI courses, track credits and earn leadership certificates through RLI’s multi-level curriculum.

“For those committed to the task of leadership and the success of their organization, the RLI is the best resource to achieve professional development as well as to augment the knowledge gaps that our medical school and residency training did not address. I encourage everyone interested in advancing their career, whether in private practice or academia, to enroll today,” said Cynthia Sherry, M.D., FACR, chair of the ACR Commission on Leadership and Practice Development and medical director of the RLI.

Enrollees will receive exclusive benefits, including the opportunity to be among the first to register for RLI programs. This includes the three-month, web-based Harvard Emerging Leaders Seminar, beginning Aug. 28, 2012, and other upcoming RLI leadership webinars. In addition, enrollees will be invited to participate in RLI’s private leadership community — an online forum where they can engage with the RLI board, radiology and business thought leaders, and their colleagues and peers to network, build skills and continue their leadership development.

Once enrolled, individuals will receive a welcome kit that includes detailed information about the leadership certificates one can achieve by attending courses and earning RLI credits, a membership pin and an RLI coffee mug.

“In today’s world, every physician in every department needs to have leadership skills. That’s why the ACR is committed to providing superior leadership training and welcomes every radiologist to the RLI community. No matter what your level of professional experience is, the RLI offers something for you,” said Paul H. Ellenbogen, M.D., FACR, chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors.
