October 19, 2011 — RamSoft’s PowerServer 5.1 has achieved 2011/2012 Complete EHR ONC-ATCB Certification, designating the software as capable of supporting providers with Stage 1 meaningful use (MU) measures. These measures are requirements to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Version 5.1 was certified on Oct. 3, 2011 under ICSA Labs’ Office of the National Coordinator – Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) Electronic Health Record program; it is compliant with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
PowerServer 5.1 will be offered in both radiology information system/picture archiving and communications system (RIS/PACS) and Tele Plus models. This will allow radiologists to quality for MU grants by using software designed for radiology, meaning they do not need to waste their time using a general-purpose EHR to receive grants.
Radiologists may be eligible for MU funding from Medicare or Medicaid by implementing the software regardless of whether they work at a hospital, outpatient center, or remote teleradiology setting. “By qualifying for MU grants, radiologists may be able to offset the proposed significant cuts to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement for imaging,” said Vijay Ramanathan, president and CEO of RamSoft.
