June 3, 2011 - The commercial release of the ClearCanvas PACS Team Edition, follows the April release of the company's first commercial radiology workstation product. This picture archiving and communications system (PACS) release signifies the first commercial version of their DICOM ImageServer software, previously only offered as an open-source application.
The PACS Team Edition is designed for small radiology practices. Building on the open source ImageServer, the Team Edition includes a concurrent workstation licensing model, unlimited Web-based image viewing, roaming user profiles, JPEG2000 compression support and centralized audit logs. In addition, the Team Edition workstation includes all of the same features as the Clinical Edition, including media writing, DICOM print, and PET/CT fusion.
The ClearCanvas PACS Team Edition is available for purchase through a number of resellers worldwide.
ClearCanvas expects a commercial release of their integrated RIS/PACS in early 2012. Additional versions of both the Workstation and the PACS are already planned for 2011; product upgrades and technical support are included free of charge during the first license year. ClearCanvas will continue to release new versions of their open source software as well.
