September 20, 2010 — Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa, upgraded to a new picture archiving and communications system (PACS) with mammography viewing capabilities.
The healthcare facility has utilized analog mammography and was prepared to transition to digital mammography, having applied for a grant to fund healthcare technology as part of the 2010 USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant. It chose to upgrade to Aspyra's AccessNET 6.6 PACS solution, which provides the capability to view digital mammography studies for diagnostic interpretation using FDA-approved monitors.
Floyd Valley had previously utilized AccessNET 6.4 for its non-mammography imaging needs. The recent product enhancement allows for a fully integrated PACS solution. All imaging studies can be accessed from the same workstation.
