May 8, 2009 - ProSolv CardioVascular said Allina Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis, Minn., recently selected the Synapse ProSolv cardiovascular solution to become its enterprise cardiovascular system.

This system will be used at all of Allina’s hospitals providing cardiovascular services and by three different cardiology groups providing services within Allina. By implementing Synapse ProSolv cardiovascular, the health system will benefit from the ease of use and support, as well as long-term financial savings that a single, unified product provides versus the use of the myriad, multi-vendor systems currently in place.

The initiative to consolidate all cardiovascular image and information management systems into one is driven by Allina’s desire to streamline cardiovascular staff workflow, as well to benefit from the significant financial and time management gains that result from supporting one system instead of many. Allina said it was driven to the Synapse ProSolv cardiovascular solution for a number of reasons, including their advanced system architecture and ability to deliver a long-term sustainable product.

Allina Health System completes almost 100,000 cardiovascular imaging exams annually. The Synapse ProSolv cardiovascular system will be used for cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound and nuclear cardiology imaging. The Web-based, vendor- and hardware-neutral, software-only solution offers users a single point of entry to instant image viewing, advanced quantification and reporting capabilities from any location. With the single common database design, clinicians and staff are able to easily access the information they need to work efficiently and deliver superior care.
