March 5, 2009 - AMICAS Inc. said this week that Monroe Clinic of Monroe, WI, is the first customer to integrate AMICAS PACS with Epic Systems Corp.'s Radiant RIS.
Monroe Clinic is a not-for-profit health system that includes a multispecialty clinic and hospital with more than 80 providers, a 24-hour emergency room, home care and hospice services and 10 clinics in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
The Radiant RIS-AMICAS PACS solution will also be featured at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center of Boston and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
"We have great confidence in Epic and their IT solutions," said Carrie Blum, director of information technology at Monroe Clinic. "The work AMICAS is doing is impressive. We evaluated many vendors before selecting AMICAS -- and their close working relationship with Epic was a critical factor in our decision. We are now live with a tightly integrated RIS-PACS solution and our radiologists and staffs are very pleased with the integrated systems."
AMICAS and Epic product development teams are collaborating to create an architecture that tightly integrates RIS and PACS. This collaboration includes a multiyear roadmap to support a series of advanced functions -- such as support for peer review workflows and auto-launching of specific activities in shared workflows, according to AMICAS.
