February 24, 2009 - The Texas Facilities Commission has chosen Viztek as its digital radiology solution provider.
Viztek’s Opal-RAD PACS and RIS solutions will be implemented at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) in San Antonio, TX. Physicians at TCID, from two University of Texas Health Science Centers, one in San Antonio and the other in Tyler, and at the San Antonio State Hospital and San Antonio State School will have access to patient studies through Viztek’s software.
TCID is converting the radiology department that serves three state institutions on the campus from an analog environment to a more efficient digital workplace with Opal-RAD PACS and RIS. The software will dramatically improve workflow by allowing for easy and safe transmission of images and studies over the Web, according to Viztek. The Web-based PACS offers enterprise-level features including direct dictation to exam files, report management and availability on any Web enabled PC, as well as a full range of customizable tools. The integrated Opal-RIS system includes advanced functionality in its features for registering and scheduling patients, facility reporting, and automatic report distribution by fax or email.
