February 19, 2009 – Siemens Healthcare released the Symbia E single detector imaging system to its Symbia family of scanners.
The Symbia E is designed to be a a high-quality, cost-effective single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) system that can help improve clinical confidence, reliability and versatility.
Siemens has taken the advanced detector technology of the Symbia family of SPECT and SPECT/CT imaging systems and made it available on the Symbia E single detector. A new generation of HD detector, first introduced with the Symbia TruePoint SPECT/CT imager, aims to offer best-in-class performance and reliability, and is available on the new Symbia E single detector scanner. It can also be upgraded to a dual detector camera as a facility’s workload necessitates.
The complete Symbia family now offers options in SPECT from a single head camera to integrated 16-slice SPECT/CT.
Another feature of the Symbia E is its ability to accommodate a wide range of patient sizes, and it can also be equipped with special positioning pallets for mammography. It also features a tilting detector for optimized planar imaging. With advanced imaging tools for oncology, cardiology, neurology and general imaging, Symbia E can reportedly satisfy the needs of most institutions, and is able to grow at the same rate as clinical requirements dictate.
