February 12, 2009 - INFINITT North America, a technology leader in Web-based RIS/PACS and advanced visualization solutions, has added new features and applications to the INFINITT PACS, designed to extend its clinical utility across the enterprise.

ED Note functionality allows emergency department (ED) physicians and technologists to include comments and questions when sending images to the radiologist, and enables the radiologist to include his notes in response.

Every department in the hospital that uses medical images has its own workflow and access/distribution requirements. In the ED, where approximately 64 percent of all patients require diagnostic imaging services, accuracy, time savings and communication with the diagnostician are of high importance. Infinitt’s ED Note feature adds convenience and a greater degree of confidence for the radiologist interpreting images.

Infinitt’s ED Note module also streamlines reporting with checkboxes and radio buttons, and provides Note Tracking and Note Statistics functionality. The radiologist can indicate a discrepancy between his assessment and the clinician's with one simple mouse click, bringing it to others’ immediate attention and enabling an administrator to track the results of discrepancies.

INFINITT, a dedicated RIS/PACS company, has gone beyond the management, archiving and distribution of images. By adding features and user-friendly tool sets for specific applications, the INFINITT PACS has evolved into an enterprise clinical tool.

In the last year INFINITT has introduced PACS software modules to improve workflow, visualization and diagnosis in digital mammography, CT colonoscopy, cardiac imaging, lung nodule detection and fusion imaging. These application-specific software packages deliver both patient care benefits and greater radiologist and staff productivity.
