January 21, 2009 — Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, WI, is converting from radiographic film and paper to a digital imaging and information management solution from Carestream Health Inc.

Memorial’s purchase includes CARESTREAM RIS/PACS and CARESTREAM Hosted Information Management, two KODAK DIRECTVIEW Classic CR Systems and a KODAK DRYVIEW 6800 Laser Imager. This solution will serve the hospital and its three outpatient clinics.

CARESTREAM RIS/PACS and Classic CR systems are designed to be easy to use to facilitate conversion from a film/paper environment. Once the system is implemented, existing paper and film processes will be replaced with an efficient electronic workflow. Physicians will order imaging exams online, patient scheduling will take place electronically and the exams will be captured digitally and transmitted to PACS for reading and storage. The final radiology report will be available electronically to all authorized clinicians. Patient information and imaging exams will be transmitted to a Carestream Health data center for long-term storage and disaster recovery.
