February 27, 2008 – Microsoft highlighted the new Microsoft Amalga family of Enterprise Health Systems at HIMSS 2008, a solution aiming to give clinicians and administrators access to real-time information across the health enterprise.
Without having to replace a current system, Amalga users a way to capture, consolidate, store, access and present data.
The Microsoft Amalga RIS/PACS is an integrated Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) available as a stand-alone imaging system or a seamlessly integrated component of Microsoft Amalga HIS. The system receives patient demographic, order and appointment information from the registration, appointment and ordering components of the clinic, ward and radiology components of Amalga HIS, and distributes images to reportedly any Internet Explorer–equipped workstation from the Internet or existing network infrastructure of an organization.
The Microsoft Amalga Hospital Information System is a fully integrated, single solution, providing integration among its front and back-office modules, giving clinicians and administrators access to information within and across different departments. The system also includes a full-featured accounting system with General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Asset Maintenance systems, as well as Purchasing and Inventory systems that handle Materials Management, Human Resources and Payroll.
