February 25, 2008 – Siemens Healthcare brought its Soarian Device Connect to HIMSS 2008, allowing for electronic collection of information from GE DINAMAP vital signs monitors, reportedly making it easier to identify patients, record observations and support validation of the documented vital signs.
The system is designed to eliminate opportunities for transcription errors by replacing manual data transcription, and makes vitals information immediately available to clinicians. Soarian Device Connect is also said to help validate and transfer vital signs electronically, working to eliminate paper-based capture and online keying.
