July 26, 2007 - Philips recently showcased the Philips-exclusive Tumor Localization (Tumor LOC) application that reportedly allows radiation oncology departments to efficiently localize target volumes for radiation therapy planning, at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting in Minneapolis, MN.
Previously only available on the Philips Brilliance CT Big Bore console, Tumor LOC is now available on the Extended Brilliance Workspace (EBW) and GEMINI TF PET/CT systems, reportedly enhancing workflow efficiency and flexibility in the radiotherapy department. When offered together with Remote Reconstruction and Pulmonary Viewer, Tumor LOC turns the EBW into a high performance 4-dimensional oncology workstation that can visualize respiratory motion from a beam’s eye view perspective.
