Philips Healthcare will highlight healthcare informatics solutions that aim to increase clinical harmony for all caregivers throughout the healthcare enterprise at SIIM 2008, including iSite PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System). iSite PACS enables delivery of clinical information throughout the enterprise, over existing networks. The newest version of the iSite PACS features advanced visualization capabilities that are completely integrated into the PACS workflow and provide additional diagnostic information through clinically relevant visualization anywhere throughout the enterprise.

iSite PACS is a customizable solution that reportedly enables workflow efficiency and increases productivity. The iSite PACS business model is scaleable, growing to meet the individual needs of an institution, especially in the hospital imaging center environment. iSite PACS customers pay a small “fee per study” on a monthly basis to view, distribute and store medical images rather than pay a large up-front fee.

Also on display will be the XIRIS Radiology Information System. Philips delivers a Web-based RIS that scales to meet the needs of community hospitals as well as large, multiple-facility hospitals. Designed to manage patient registration, scheduling, exam tracking, staff and resource management, eligibility and verification, medical necessity and the generation of reports and statistical information, XIRIS provides a comprehensive solution designed to streamline workflow at radiology facilities. XIRIS also provides an international and multilingual solution.

As the basis of an integrated healthcare IT platform fostering clinical harmony, Philips is integrating its iSite PACS and XIRIS products together.

Philips’ newly enhanced Xcelera cardiology information solution organizes and provides access to images and data from key cardiology subspecialties. Featuring a user-friendly design, Xcelera offers an extensive range of integrated, advanced quantification applications on a common workspace, said the company. The system presents one access point to multimodality information, such as cardiovascular ultrasound, CT, MR, nuclear medicine, ECG and electrophysiology recording signals, as well as provides long-term storage and enterprise distribution of multimedia studies.

Philips also is introducing new 3D clinical applications completely integrated into the latest version of iSite PACS and available as add-on options. These include Philips iSite Volume Vision along with our work-in-progress solutions, Philips iSite Pulmonary Embolism Assessment and Philips iSite CT Colonography. All caregivers within the enterprise can have unlimited access to these clinical visualization tools and applications on iSite PACS, using its high performance iSyntax distribution technology.
