November 8, 2007 - Vapotherm, a developer and manufacturer of high flow oxygen therapy products, recently earned an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Vapotherm was one of three Maryland companies to receive this designation at a recent ceremony in Wye Mills, MD. The Export Achievement Certificate was created by the U.S. Department of Commerce to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully entered the international marketplace for the first time, or have successfully entered a new market.
“Vapotherm has been on a progressive international expansion course and we are now distributed in over 20 countries outside the U.S. and our success abroad has not only provided an important new technology for the global respiratory community, but it has also helped to strengthen our domestic base,” said Kevin Thibodeau, vice president of sales and marketing for Vapotherm. “The U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance and the State of Maryland Export Assistance has been a valuable resource for use as we expand globally.”
“We are excited about Vapotherm’s rapid growth in international markets. Vapotherm is a great example of a small company that is able to succeed internationally due to its advanced technology, corporate leadership and commitment to developing markets overseas,” said Bill Burwell, director of the U.S. Commercial Service in Baltimore.
