April 16, 2008 - GE Healthcare IT said today it signed an agreement with the University of Tennessee (UT) Medical Center to implement its Centricity Perioperative Software Solution throughout the center that regionally serves east Tennessee, southeast Kentucky and western North Carolina.
“We were looking for a complete perioperative solution that provides ease-of-use, full documentation including the latest patient safety features as well the ability to manage our complex supply chain and through a thorough search, GE Healthcare provided the best product,” said Gary Scott, vice president of UT’s perioperative services.
UT Medical will install Centricity Perioperative version 7.5 across the organization’s 26 (growing to 55) operating rooms with the goal of complete documentation and comprehensive revenue cycle management. The Centricity solution will additionally support communications, data and workflow within pre-admission testing and throughout the post anesthesia care unit, including comprehensive resource management, GE said. The latest version includes integrated instrument set tracking, using Sterile Processing Manager, and Centricity Tracker, which provides patient visitors and families with real-time status updates while protecting patient confidentiality.
