December 11, 2007 - Carestream Health Inc. announced that Ultrasound Associates of Virginia has purchased its KODAK CARESTREAM Outpatient Solution, a new turnkey digital imaging and information management package designed for imaging centers.

Ultrasound Associates provides women’s health services including diagnostic and screening mammography exams, high-risk OB/GYN ultrasound, and bone density studies. The sale was initiated by X-Ray Visions Inc. a Platinum channel partner for Carestream Health with more than 30 years of service in Virginia and the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area.

The CARESTREAM Outpatient Solution incorporates a fully integrated KODAK CARESTREAM RIS/PACS with system design and project management services as well as workflow optimization planning. When installation is complete, Ultrasound Associates will be a Northeastern show site for Carestream Health’s Outpatient Solution.

The RIS streamlines the imaging process by including user-friendly patient scheduling, patient recall, personalized patient letters and data required for MQSA reporting. Ultrasound Associates also purchased the optional integrated billing and insurance claims module to facilitate payments from insurance providers and verify co-payment amounts during scheduling.

Carestream Health’s Professional Services team will perform system design, implementation and project management as well as user training. The team will use CARESTREAM Business Diagnostics analytics to document Ultrasound Associates’ current workflow, and create a map for future processes that will maximize workflow efficiency while taking into account the preferences of staff and clinicians.

Designed to satisfy the diverse operational needs of outpatient centers, the CARESTREAM Outpatient Solution provides:
-Scheduling and reporting for general radiology exams and scheduling and reporting with MQSA audit support for mammography exams;
-Pre-fetching of prior digital imaging exams;
-Results distribution and management reporting;
-Advanced diagnostic tools, digital dictation, transcription, and Web-based viewing of radiology reports and key images; and
-Optional billing and claims processing.
