Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center has selected an Aquilion 64 CFX from Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. to improve evaluation and treatment capabilities for its pediatric patients. The Aquilion 64 CFX was chosen based on several factors, including the system’s scanning speed, radiation dose profile, and expanded cardiac capabilities.
The Aquilion’s increased scan speed coupled with its SURECardio adaptive segmented reconstruction package automatically adjusts to a patient’s individual heart rate - ensuring that precise, motion-free images are captured every time.
“We’re nationally known for the treatment of a wide range of pediatric disorders and our new 64-slice CT will significantly improve our noninvasive diagnostic capabilities moving forward, particularly in the area of cardiac evaluation,” said Lane Donnelly, M.D., radiologist-in-chief at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
