August 9, 2007 - LYNX Medical Systems announced an agreement with Floyd Medical Center, Rome, GA to implement LYNX E/Point Emergency Department (ED) facility charging system.
"LYNX E/Point will help streamline workflows in our Emergency Department," said Teresa Provost, director of Revenue Management at Floyd. "This will allow our caregivers more time to provide the best healthcare possible to our patients.”
LYNX E/Point ED outpatient facility charging application will assist Floyd ED staff in recording services and resources used during patient visits. The software employs LYNX proprietary ED Outpatient Facility Charging Algorithm, which produces a visit level distribution that reportedly accurately reflects patient acuity mix and resource utilization in the ED. E/Point, according to the company, automatically calculates the visit level for consistent, compliant and complete E/M charge assignment. Once completed, charges are extracted to the hospital financial system. Floyd will also have access to financial and clinical data to help them better manage ED operations and patient care.
