A high-quality, interactive mobile application that uses your Web browser of choice

RSNA 2012 FujiFilm Medical Systems USA Synapse Mobility PACS

January 30, 2013 — Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A. Inc. shared the benefits of its zero footprint mobile application, Synapse Mobility, with visitors to the 2012 meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). The application enables access to Fujifilm’s suite of Synapse products from hand-held devices, in addition to Macintosh- or Windows-based PCs. It was one of several Synapse products and solutions demonstrated at the show.

“Mobility has already seen success at hospitals and diagnostic centers throughout the country, giving radiologists, cardiologists and referring physicians true on-the-go access to the images and information stored in Synapse PACS, Synapse RIS and Synapse Cardiovascular,” says Jim Morgan, Fujifilm’s vice president of Medical Informatics. “It offers many efficiencies and patient care benefits to busy departments within multiple-facility healthcare organizations.”

One of Synapse Mobility’s newer applications is a collaboration feature that aides in consultations during clinical situations such as real-time communication between physicians, referring clinicians and patients, using any Web browser available to each participant. It displays interactive 3-D diagnostic images, provides advanced viewing capabilities, including zoom, window and level, and uses MIP/MPR just as it would at a clinical workstation.

“It is the only system on the market that has been fully validated with Synapse PACS, RIS and Cardiovascular, and can be used with a wide variety of user interfaces, including iPads, iPhones and Android Smartphones, as both a browser independent and scalable application,” Morgan adds.
