June 15, 2007 - Dr. K. Wayne Johnston was elected 2007-2008 president of the Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS) during the Vascular Annual Meeting on June 8, 2007, now leading the country's largest vascular surgeon society with 2,400 members.
Dr. Johnston's major research interests include basic studies of hemodynamics and investigations to understand the origin and errors of Doppler recordings and clinical studies of percutaneous balloon angioplasty and abdominal aortic aneurysms. He has had continuous research funding from the Canadian Institute for Health Research (previously the MRC) for 30 years.
